Senior Architect for ARENCOS (CE)
With an expanding and growing portfolio, we are now searching for an experienced Architect to join our team in Chania, Crete. This is a position with a minimum five years of experience in all stages of design & construction.
As Senior Architect, you will be expected to display a good and holistic understanding of project objectives and successfully contribute to the alignment between architecture and engineering principles, value creation, teamworking and knowledge sharing.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Design of building projects (preliminary, final, implementation study)
- Cooperation with internal and external partners of ARENCOS (Civil Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Project Managers, Architects etc.) in all phases of project implementation to ensure the design intent is accurately understood and interpreted to the Greek Building Regulations
- Design and production of implementation plans, construction details and technical specifications
- Preparation of project files for licensing and communication with agencies/committees/advisory boards and local authorities
- Coordinate effectively consultants and specialists alike to meet overall project objectives and needs (timeline, budget and specs) and minimize risks and uncertainties
- Demonstrate the ability to resolve technical and design issues
- Communication with clients and third-party specialists
- Pro-actively keep stakeholders informed of work status and seek clarification as and when appropriate
- Keeping abreast of material innovative design, sustainable developments and technological advancement in the construction sector
- Contribute positively and work productively as part of a dedicated team of colleagues focused on delivering a high-quality service with professionalism.

- Degree in Architectural Engineering
- Minimum five years professional experience
- Excellent knowledge of the Greek Building Regulations and permitting procedures
- Very good knowledge of NOK (Law 4067/2012 and Law 4495/2017) and experience in drafting and supporting files to Building Services and other approving bodies
- Familiarity with the e-Permits system for building projects licensing of TEE e-Permits
- Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D Modelling Software
- Experience in all stages of design & construction
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) will be appreciated
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Teamwork spirit
- Willingness to learn and develop
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

DESIGN THE FUTURE WITH A DEDICATED TEAM OF EXPERTS
In this position, you’ll join our team of experts and work closely with the civil engineering team in our offices in Chania, Crete. Reporting to the Technical Director you’ll be responsible for technical deliverables including calculations and design work.
On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be responsible for:
- Interacting with a team of engineers and project supervisors
- Detailed design and analysis of new and existing structures in concrete, steel, timber and masonry
- Support project management from feasibility to detailed design, including all technical, programme and cost monitoring
- Ensuring that design, assessments and checking of designs are in accordance with the current Standards, Codes of Practice and Best Practice
- Review/checking/approval of designs, assessments and calculations in accordance with quality procedures
- Client liaison and management
