Sea-Front Akrotiri Luxurious Residence

This luxurious beach-front house is situated in Stavros, Akrotiri area. The brief is for a multi-generational home for two households – the client’s family with a child and their parents – with private and common spaces.

The client adhered to a specific architecture and ended up – via various references – at ARENCOS.  Architecture design does not always have to be very complicated.  A good plan, respecting the dynamics of location and orientation, can even be very simple. This property proves that such honest architecture without bells or whistles can nevertheless result in beautiful projects.

The choice of material came from observing at the unrefined stone. We loved how the layers of time are evident in the stone. We wanted to tell a story of identity and context through a structure in which the stone will be a significant part of the living areas.

The use of local materials contributes to the integration of modern structures with the environment, as well as a symbiotic practice between the indigenous construction techniques of the past and the contemporary sustainable construction processes.
